  1. How do I get to Chesapeake School of Esthetics: Skin Care and Makeup Artistry?

    From Baltimore: Travel 97 South to 50 East towards Annapolis. Cross over the Severn River Bridge (be in the right lane) and be prepared to exit.

    From Washington, D.C.: Travel 50 East towards Annapolis. Cross over the Severn River Bridge (be in the right lane) and be prepared to exit. Take Exit 27 - Route 2 -, towards Baltimore. You will veer to the left. Now get in your right lane and travel approximately 1.0 miles.

    On the right side of the road you will see the sign for the Antiock Apostolic Church. Slow down and get in the extreme right lane. Take your next right onto Baltimore/Annapolis Blvd.

    Travel straight for approximately .02 miles. On your left you will see the signs for:

    • Special Beginnings Birth and Woman's Center
    • Maryland Primary Care Physicians

    We are next to the Maryland Primary Care Physicians on the left hand side of the road in the Arnold Executive Center.

    Chesapeake School of Esthetics is located in Suite 105 on the ground level.

    From the Eastern Shore:Travel 50 west towards Annapolis.

    Take Exit 27 - Route 2 - towards Ritchie Hwy/Severna Park

    Get in your right lane and travel approximately .07 miles.

    On the right side of the road you will see a sign for The Antiock Apostolic Church.

    Slow down and get into your extreme right lane. Take the next right onto Baltimore/Annapolis Blvd.

    Travel straight for .02 miles. Chesapeake School of Esthetics is located on the left hand side of the road in the Arnold Executive Center in Suite 105 on the ground level.



  2. What if I have to miss a class?

    Students enrolled in the 600 Hour Skin Care and Makeup Artistry Program must achieve a minimum attendance rate of 80% of the total program in order to graduate.

    In order to graduate from the 40 Hour Makeup Demonstrators Program attendance is required at all 10 classes sessions. Due to the successive nature of this program, it is advised that students begin the program at a time when they can attend all 10 classes.

  3. When do I take my state board examination for Esthetics?

    Graduates of the 600 Hour Skin Care and Makeup Artistry Program are eligible to apply for The Maryland State Board of Cosmetology Esthetics Examination. Testing for this examination is held at a separate location and performed by an outside testing service. Details including testing dates, locations, and fees will be furnished to the student after all graduation requirements have been fulfilled.

  4. When do I take my state board examination for Makeup Artistry?

    Students of the 40 Hour Makeup Demonstrators Program will take their state board licensing examination on the last day of class at the school. Students will be required to take both a written and practical final examination. In order to graduate from the school, students must achieve a score of at least 75% or higher on all examinations. Qualified graduates will receive an application for a Certificate of Registration for makeup artistry from the State of Maryland. A full two year license fee is $25.00 which is paid directly to the State Board of Cosmetologists.

  5. Do you have employment and placement services?

    Chesapeake School of Esthetics: Skin Care and Makeup Artistry takes placement inquires from employers in the health, beauty and fashion industries throughout the Annapolis, Baltimore and Washington, D.C. areas. The school, by regulation, is not permitted to guarantee employment or salaries, however, the school will provide a bulletin board displaying current job opportunities for the student to review and consider.

  6. Do you offer continuing education?

    Yes. We offer Bridal Make-Up Techniques for the graduates of our programs. The Bridal Class is an intermediate level class, designed for the licensed makeup artist who wants to expand their business to include professional wedding services. Learn the 'business' of freelance makeup artistry, from client consultation to the day of the wedding.
